2. Fill out the description field as detailed as you wish
Do not forget to write as original as possible at your description field at your YouTube. The more interesting you put yourself out there, the more people will visit more often. Don't be afraid to be a little arrogant here.
2. Upload your singing videos
When you have your YouTube channel ready, please record your own singing videos. A webcam and a microphone are acquired. You can also put a photo with your recording on it. I see that mostly a video with a webcam is more popular, since they can see who you are and you can put more entertainment into your video. A crappy sound and a crappy video quality is not a fun to watch and listen. Please make sure you have a good webcam. Of course a high definition is a very nice video quality, but I know that not everybody can afford an expensive webcam or video camera. If you can, you are lucky, but if you can't you can still buy a webcam for 15 to 30 dollars/euros to record with. Just make sure the settings are set probably.
Also, a good microphone is required for a good sound, and maybe you can think of a studio microphone or building your own studio one day.
6. Get in touch with other musicians
On Youtube you should subscribe to other musicians, so you will get known by them. Their fans will get to know you, so you get a bigger audience, this will result in more fame, and fame.

If you like performing with a band, you could audition at a band in your region. You can perform live and record it on videos so you get more fame as a band.
